We're two guys from Miami who got tired of watching big brands poison your bathroom and call it premium. So we built KONG. Bamboo. Real materials. Zero apologies.

THE ORIGIN

CARLOS DIDN'T GO TO COLLEGE. HE WENT TO WORK.

Started his first business before he turned 16. Family pushed the business mindset early. No waiting around for permission. No four-year detour through a classroom. The fastest way to build something real is to actually go build it.

He spent his early twenties bouncing between e-commerce experiments, watching what worked and what didn't. Selling stuff online taught him more in 18 months than a marketing degree could in four years. He was learning by losing money. Then learning by making it back. Then learning by keeping it.

Then he looked at the toilet paper aisle one day and saw something obvious that nobody else was talking about.

Why is every premium bamboo brand made for hippies? Where's the toilet paper that has a backbone?

THE BAMBOO TP MARKET WAS ASLEEP. SO WE SHOWED UP.

Look at the bamboo toilet paper market in 2023. Who Gives A Crap was British and pastel. Cloud Paper looked like it was designed by a tech bro at a Silicon Valley meditation retreat. Reel was decent but invisible. Bippy was tiny.

Nobody was building a bamboo TP brand that felt PREMIUM. Or had a real personality. Or didn't apologize for charging more. Every single one of them was selling 'eco-friendly bamboo paper' and praying you'd care about polar bears enough to pay double.

Carlos saw the gap. There was room for a bamboo TP brand that didn't beg you to switch. One that punched corporate TP in the face. One that was loud, confident, premium, and unapologetic. KONG.

WITHOUT JIMMY, THERE IS NO KONG

Carlos and Jimmy linked up early 2024 and KONG was born. Carlos brought the e-commerce engine and the growth playbook. Jimmy brought the brand mind. The kind of mind that understands why Liquid Death sells water at premium prices to people who could drink it from a tap. The kind that runs in rooms with people like Alix Earle and knows exactly what makes a brand actually land

Jimmy didn't just join KONG. He co-founded it. Early 2024, Carlos and Jimmy sat down, looked at what every other bamboo TP brand was doing, and Jimmy laid out the vision that nobody else had. The aged paper textures. The wanted-poster energy. The Bebas Neue display type that hits like a punch. The anti-corporate voice that doesn't whisper its values, it screams them. The whole brand soul came from him. Without Jimmy, KONG is just bamboo paper in a box. With him, it's a movement.

Carlos drives the DTC growth machine. Jimmy locks the brand. Together, KONG actually became something. Not a product. A movement.

THE WHY

WE STARTED KONG BECAUSE WE GOT TIRED OF BEING LIED TO.

Every household has a toilet paper they swore by for 20 years. Charmin. Cottonelle. Quilted Northern. The brand your mom used. The brand your grandma used. The one you grew up trusting.

And those brands sold you out.

They put PFAS in your toilet paper to make it stronger when wet. Forever chemicals. Linked to cancer, hormone disruption, immune damage. They bleached it with chlorine until the dioxins seeped into the paper. They treated it with formaldehyde resins to make it 'extra soft.'

Then they wrapped it in plastic, marked it up, and ran ads with cute cartoon bears so you'd never ask what was in it.

KONG exists because someone needs to tell the truth. And someone needs to make TP that doesn't poison you while doing it. We're that someone.

Bamboo grows three feet a day. Trees take 30 years. The choice was obvious. The fact that no big brand had made it was the opportunity.
